Freedom Isnt Free

Though I sometimes joke that I am not the most patriotic American (mostly for my desire to live in other parts of the world) I am not naive to the fact that I am completely blessed to live in a country where I have the freedom to go where I want, dressed the way I like, and say the things I want to say.

And while I find the way that this land was acquired by the English completely savage...like my play on words there?...& have lackluster feelings for a multitude of things that have gone on in American history, the fact remains that I am better off to be a woman here in America than many other places in the world, insofar as freedom, rights, job opportunities & education are concerned.

Men & women have given up their lives so we could have these opportunities. They have lived their lives around this cause, devoted everything they had to it, died for it.

Though I joke that I am not "the best" Christian, I would die for my faith. I am questioned & challenged about why I believe what I do & what I have to give up for my faith a lot. Im not naive, I know that I sacrifice for my faith.

Sometimes it saddens me so much to see what people have done to God, the church, religion. I see how it turns people away from God & that breaks my heart. There are horrible things that have been done in "the name of religion"; but I know how wonderful God truly is. If everyone could just see the good, that we are so much better off with Him, in his nation.

Men & women have given up their lives for the cause of their religions.

One man gave His life for the cause of all of us. He died so we could truly be free.

Do I sacrifice for my faith? Yes. But my sacrifice is nothing compared to theirs. Compared to His.

Freedom isnt Free.
